PA hot melt adhesive film is a polyamide-family adhesive film for leather, synthetic leather, nylon fabric, polyester fabric, garment reinforcement, footwear components, embroidery patches and durable textile bonding. It is selected when buyers need a dry film adhesive direction with stronger structural bonding and better durability than softer or lower-cost film families.

Product Fit

PA film is a practical option for projects that require firm bonding, repeated handling resistance, leather/textile compatibility and stable converted-film supply. It should not be treated as interchangeable with TPU, PES, EVA or PO: TPU is normally preferred for softness and elasticity, PES for polyester-rich structures, EVA for lower-cost foam or packaging lamination, and PO for PP, PE, TPO or low-polarity plastics.

Key Features

  • Useful starting direction for leather, synthetic leather, nylon fabric, polyester fabric and reinforcement textiles.
  • Dry-film format supports cleaner handling than liquid glue in footwear, garment and accessory production.
  • Suitable for roll slitting, sheet cutting and die-cut preparation before bonding.
  • Often considered when durability, washing or dry-cleaning resistance is more important than maximum softness.
  • Release liner options can be matched to cutting, positioning and transfer needs.

Recommended Applications

Application AreaTypical Product / Bonding PositionProduct Advantage / Selection Value
Footwear componentsShoe upper reinforcement, fabric-backed parts, lining and accessory layersSupports firm dry-film bonding and repeatable cutting or placement
Garment reinforcementCollar, cuff, label backing, reinforcement fabric and functional sewn productsUseful when the project needs stronger bonding and shape support
Leather goods and luggageSynthetic leather, microfiber, lining, reinforcement sheets and decorative panelsHelps replace solvent glue handling in selected laminate structures
Embroidery and industrial textilesEmbroidered patches, badges, woven labels and technical textile compositesCan be slit or die cut for controlled application in batch production

Suitable Bonding Materials

Material GroupSelection Note
Leather and synthetic leatherCheck surface finish, coating, oil content and required hand feel during sampling.
Nylon and polyester fabricsA common PA selection direction for durable textile bonding and reinforcement structures.
Felt, nonwoven and microfiberConfirm surface texture, thickness, compression and bond-line feel before bulk use.
Low-surface-energy plasticsUsually require another adhesive family or surface treatment; PA should not be assumed as universal.

Selection Notes

PA film selection should start from the substrate pair, coating type, required hand feel, moisture condition, heat exposure, washing or dry-cleaning need, liner handling and converting method. Because PA materials can be sensitive to workshop humidity and storage condition, sample preparation should use clean, properly stored film and the buyer’s actual production material.

Processing and Custom Supply Support

VELNORA can support PA film in roll, slit roll, sheet or die-cut format. For sample direction, provide substrate names, coating or finish, target thickness, width, liner preference, bonding equipment, expected end use and any current bonding issue. Samples are available if you want to check the film on your own material.

Quality Control Summary

Routine PA film checks focus on roll appearance, thickness direction, width, liner release, surface cleanliness, winding condition, melt behavior, packaging and storage condition. For leather and textile projects, surface finish, moisture and finished-part appearance should be reviewed together with bonding performance.

FAQ

Is PA hot melt adhesive film softer than TPU film?

Usually no. PA is often selected for stronger and more durable bonding direction, while TPU is normally preferred when softness, flexibility and elastic recovery are more important.

Can PA film be used for leather goods?

Yes, it can be evaluated for leather, synthetic leather, microfiber and reinforcement structures. Surface finish and coating should be checked during sample selection.

Can PA film be supplied as die-cut pieces?

Yes. Roll, slit roll, sheet and die-cut formats can be discussed according to width, thickness, liner and positioning requirements.

What information is needed for PA sample selection?

Send substrate names, coating or finish, target thickness, width, supply form, liner need, bonding equipment and final application. This helps narrow the suitable sample direction.

When Should Buyers Choose PA?

PA adhesive film is a thermoplastic polyamide adhesive film direction for leather, synthetic leather, technical textile, reinforcement and durable bonding projects. Buyers usually review PA when the material stack needs a firmer bonding direction, process stability and compatibility with leather-like or textile-reinforcement structures.

TPU remains the first direction for soft and elastic laminates, PES is often reviewed for polyester textile and embroidery or label structures, EVA fits foam, paper and packaging-board lamination, and PO is used for PP, PE, TPO or other lower-polarity substrates. PA should therefore be positioned as a polyamide bonding film with its own material-selection role.
