Product Categories
PO hot melt adhesive film is a polyolefin-family adhesive film for PP, PE, TPO, selected plastics, foam, nonwoven and packaging-related laminate structures. It is used when buyers need a dry film adhesive direction for low-polarity or low-surface-energy material projects.

Product Fit
PO film is mainly considered for polyolefin-related substrates and plastic composite structures. It should not be treated as the same material family as TPU, PES, PA or EVA: TPU is usually selected for softness and elasticity, PES and PA for selected textile or higher-resistance structures, while PO is evaluated when PP, PE, TPO, foam, nonwoven or packaging materials are central to the bonding problem. For an assembly that pairs rubber with PP or another plastic, review the rubber-to-plastic bonding direction against the actual materials rather than assuming one PO grade fits.

Key Features
- Useful starting direction for PP, PE, TPO, foam, nonwoven and packaging laminate projects.
- Dry-film format supports cleaner handling than liquid glue in converting and lamination processes.
- Can be supplied as roll, slit roll, sheet or die-cut piece according to project handling.
- Liner options can be matched to die-cutting, transfer, winding and positioning needs.
- Modified grade selection can be discussed when low-surface-energy plastics are involved.
Recommended Applications
| Application Area | Typical Product / Bonding Position | Product Advantage / Selection Value |
|---|---|---|
| Polyolefin plastic bonding | PP, PE, TPO or treated plastic sheets and films | A more relevant starting family than many polar adhesive films for low-polarity substrates |
| Foam and nonwoven lamination | Foam-backed parts, nonwoven layers and plastic composite structures | Supports dry-film bonding and controlled roll or sheet handling |
| Packaging structures | Packaging film, board, foam insert and plastic laminate combinations | Can be evaluated where polyolefin compatibility and liner handling are important |
| Industrial composite parts | Automotive interior plastic/foam/fabric structures and insulation-related laminates | Allows sample direction based on substrate, surface treatment and finished-part requirement |

Suitable Bonding Materials
| Material Group | Selection Note |
|---|---|
| PP, PE and TPO | Surface treatment, cleaning, primer or modified grade selection may be needed depending on the actual surface. |
| Foam and nonwoven | Check compression, surface texture, deformation risk and laminate flatness during sample review. |
| Packaging film and board | Confirm layer structure, liner handling, storage condition and finished-product use. |
| Polar textiles or elastic fabrics | TPU, PES, PA or EVA may be better depending on softness, resistance and cost target; PO is not a universal replacement. |
Selection Notes
PO film selection should start from the exact substrate name, surface treatment, coating, molding release condition, required supply form and finished-product test method. For untreated or low-surface-energy plastics, bonding can change significantly with surface cleanliness, corona, plasma, flame treatment, primer or modified grade direction.
Processing and Custom Supply Support
Processing conditions should be confirmed by the selected PO grade, film thickness, substrate structure, liner and machine. VELNORA can discuss roll, slit roll, sheet and die-cut supply, as well as release paper, release film or liner-free handling when the grade and winding stability allow it. Samples are available if you want to check the film on your own material.
Quality Control Summary
Routine PO film checks focus on roll appearance, width, thickness direction, liner release, winding condition, surface cleanliness, melt behavior, packaging and storage condition. For plastic bonding projects, surface condition and treatment history should be recorded before comparing sample results.

FAQ
Can PO hot melt adhesive film bond untreated PP or PE?
It depends on the selected modified grade and surface condition. Untreated PP and PE are low-surface-energy substrates, so surface treatment, primer or a special modified grade may be needed.
Is PO film better than TPU, PES, PA or EVA?
Only for the right material structure. PO is mainly evaluated for polyolefin and low-polarity substrates. TPU, PES, PA and EVA each have different selection boundaries.
Can PO film be supplied without release paper?
Some grades can be discussed as liner-free, but winding stability, film tack, die-cutting method and transfer process must be confirmed first.
What information should I send for sample selection?
Send the plastic type or substrate name, surface treatment, coating condition, target thickness, width, liner need, supply form, bonding equipment and final application.

When Should Buyers Choose PO?
PO adhesive film is a thermoplastic polyolefin adhesive film direction for PP, PE, TPO, nonwoven and other lower-polarity substrate projects. It is reviewed when material compatibility and substrate polarity are more important than the soft elastic behavior expected from TPU or the textile-focused direction of PES.
For difficult polyolefin structures, buyers should share whether the PP, PE or TPO surface is untreated, corona-treated, flame-treated, coated or laminated with another layer. This helps route the project toward a selected PO bonding film or another adhesive-film family when the substrate stack requires it.
